New Online Forum Provides Platform for Amateurs to Share Jokes in a Competitive, Viral Format

Greenwich, CT July 13, 2009 -- FunniestJokester.com is an online comedy community dedicated to reviving the art of joke telling. Joke tellers and aspiring comedians can perform jokes on video and upload them onto the website to be voted on by family, friends, and other members of the FunniestJokester community. Members compete against each other for recognition and prizes. The FunniestJokester.com will expose everyone’s funniest, friend or neighbor, or even themselves.

The FunniestJokester.com partnered with the San Francisco Comedy Club and New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club to create a site that will serve as a launching pad for aspiring comics, a great resource for visitors to turn for laughs, and a vast undiscovered talent pool for the entertainment industry.  Members who upload videos onto the site have the opportunity to win a cash prize of $100 if their jokes are chosen as the funniest of the month. At the end of year, the person selected as the funniest jokester will win a prize of $10,000. Anyone can visit the FunniestJokester.com website and view content. Members must be at least 13 years of age to participate in competitions, and those who are under the age of 18 must have permission from a legal guardian.  Competitions continue to take place on a monthly basis.
